Gairmscoil Chú Uladh
In September 1982 the county’s second all-Irish school opened in Ballinamore in the central Gaeltacht area stretching from Glenfin to Doochary and Glenties. As numbers began to grow, a proper school building was required and this opened in 1984.
In September 2006, the Minister for Education and Science announced the approval for the refurbishment and substantial extension for the school at an approx. value of €2.4m. The refurbished School and extension was officially opened in May 2008 by Ms. Mary Coughlan, T.D., Tánaiste and Minister for Enterprise, Trade and Employment.
The school meets the needs of the local community by offering the following range of programmes:
