[lang_ie]Tá seanaithne ar Anne Nic Aodha mar gheall ar an ionchur atá aici san Oideachas agus san Amharclannaíocht Amaitéarach ar fud an Chontae seo. Tá Anne, ó Bhéal Átha Seanaidh ó dhúchas, mar Phríomhoide ar Choláiste an Earagail i Leitir Ceanainn ach go bhfuil sí faoi láthair ar shocrúcháin leis an Choiste Gairmoideachais agus ag obair mar Oifigeach Oideachais Forbartha. Nuair atá faill aici tá Anne fós mar stiúrthóir, áit a bhfuil Gradam bronnta uirthi, leis an Chumann Drámaíochta Bhéal Átha Seanaidh agus tá fós seónna léirithe aici le Cumann Cheoil Bhéal Átha Seanaidh.
Sa bhliain 2010, thug Anne faoi deara go raibh roinnt banaisteoirí sa Chumann Drámaíochta a bhí an-cumasach agus rith siad leis an seó Steel Magnolias a chuir ar stáitse. Rinneadh sin agus cuireadh an seó ar an ardán don lucht féachana áitiúil i mí na Samhna sin. Deir Anne – ” Bhí an t-aiseolas go dearfach sin, agus daoine ag rá linn ba cheart leis an seó bheith ar an chiorcad” “Shocraigh muid sin a dhéanamh agus triail a bhaint as” “Chuir muid isteach ar an Rannóg Teoranta mar bhí seo iomlán nua dúinn uilig agus ní raibh a fhios againn conas mar a d’éireodh linn ina iomláine. Bhain muid Craobh na hÉireann amach leis an seó sin agus anois tá muid sa Chomórtas Oscailte na bliana seo agus tá mé féin iontach bródúil as sin”. “Tá an fhoireann bhreá ábalta don chomórtas Oscailte” – a deir Anne. Rinneadh an seó “The Memory of Water” anuraidh agus i mbliana tá siad leathbhealaigh tríd an chiorcad leis an seó “Snake in the Grass“. Bhain siad an 3ú háit amach le déanaí ar An Bhaile Nua, Contae Thír Eoghain agus an 1ú háit i gCoillte Clochair, Contae Liatroma agus fós an 2ú háit ag Féile Drámaíochta Dhoire Cholmcille. Leanann Anne leis seo – ” Sé Baile Átha Luain ar ndóigh an phríomhsprioc atá againn – sin an aidhm nó an leibhéal is airde le baint amach – ach cibé ar bith cad a tharlaíonn tá muid iontach go deo sásta leis an léiriúchán”.
Tá an t-agallamh iomlán a rinne Anne le Sue Doherty ón Democrat ar fáil anseo. Déanann muid uile comhghairdeas le Anne as an méid bainte amach aici agus lean ort.[/lang_ie]
[lang_en-uk]Anne McHugh is known equally well across Donegal in the world of education and amateur theatre circles.
The Ballyshannon native is Principal of Errigal College, Letterkenny. She’s currently on secondment to Donegal VEC where she is working as Education Development Officer. In her spare time, Anne is an award-winning director with Ballyshannon Drama Society and she’s also directed shows for Ballyshannon Musical Society.
In 2010, Anne realised the Drama Society had a number of very gifted actresses and someone suggested to her that they do Steel Magnolias. The group took it on, intending to just stage if for local audiences in November. “The feedback was so positive, with people saying it was good enough to go on the circuit, so we decided we’d give it a go. We entered the Confined Section because it was our first outing and we didn’t know how we’d do. We won the All Ireland so now we’re in the Open this year, and I’m very happy about that. The cast are all well able for the Open. Link here to www.adci.ie
They did The Memory of Water last year and are currently half-way through the circuit with Snake in the Grass. The show took third place in Newtownstewart recently and have secured a 1st and a 2nd at Kiltyclogher, Co Leitrim and Derry Drama Festivals respectively. Anne says: “Getting to Athlone would absolutely be the pinnacle, that’s the aim at the back of your head – the Mecca for drama people – but whatever happens we’re happy with the production.”
Full interview with Anne was with Sue Doherty of the Donegal Democrat and is available from this link. We all congratulate Anne on her achievements to date and may she continue in her success.[/lang_en-uk]
