- Daonáireamh 1911.
- Daoine Cáiliúla i do cheantar roimh 1960.
Is iad seo a leanas a bhfuil baint acu leis an Choiste Gairmoideachais a fuair duaiseanna ar an oíche – Bhí na daltaí ó Choláiste Phobail Cholmcille, Toraigh sa dara háit i gcuideachta Pobalscoil Ghaoth Dobhair leis an tionscnamh a rinne siad ar Laethanta Scoile roimh 1960. Bhí an bua sa chomórtas seo don Trófaí an tAthair Jackie Fitzgerald bainte amach ag Coláiste Pobail Loreto, Baile na nGallóglach leis an taighde agus úsáid iontach a rinne siad le Daonáireamh 1911.
Sa Chorn Cecil King bhí an bua don 11ú am ag Coláiste na Carraige le mac léinn Cian Gallagher a rinne atáirgeadh ar déantúsán stairiúil Túr Martello. Déanann muid comhghairdeas libh uile.[/lang_ie]
[lang_en-uk]The 39th annual schools competition organised by the County Donegal Historical Society had their award ceremony recently in Jackson’s Hotel, Ballybofey. As usual, it was a night of colour and enthusiasm with some amazing research projects, displays and presentations from the participating primary and second level schools that took part. The themes this year were :-
- Schooldays before 1960.
- Trading over the past 100 years.
- 1911 Census.
- Famous People in your area before 1960.
The following from the Donegal VEC were among the prizewinners on the night – The students from Coláiste Pobail Cholmcille, Tory Island came joint second with Pobalscoil Ghaoth Dobhair with their project on Schooldays before 1960. The winners of this competition for the Fr.Jackie Fitzgerald Trophy were Loreto Milford who produced a project showing exceptional use of the 1911 Census. The Cecil King Cup was presented to Cian Gallagher from Coláiste na Carraige for his reproduction model of a Martello Tower. Congratulations to all and well done.[/lang_en-uk]
