[lang_ie]Sé an rud atá i gceist le Cumasóige, atá ina chlár oideachais, traenála agus taithí oibre ón Roinn Oideachais agus Scileanna nó oiliúint agus forbairt ar na bunscileanna do dhaoine óga a d’fhág an scoil go luath. Tá sé mar aidhm go gcuirtear leis an fhoghlaim agus na daoine óga a ullmhú le haghaidh breisoideachais / oiliúint nó / agus fostaíocht a bhaint amach. Tá Cumasóige Leitir Ceanainn atá suite ar Bhóthar Cill Mhic Réanáin san Ionad Oideachais mar cheann do na háiteanna seo, a bhfuil spás do 40 dhuine óga agus fáil ar chúrsaí mar CnDBO Leibhéal 2,3 agus 4 agus an Ardteistiméireacht Fheidhmeach (ATF).
Scríobh duine do na foghlaimeoirí faoi láthair atá ag freastal ar an Chúrsa ATF seo, Ryan Matthewson, píosa faoi thaithí agus eispéireas bainte amach aige agus cad a shíleann sé faoi. Foilsíodh an píosa seo le gairid sna páipéir nuachtáin áitiúla. Tá Ryan (18 bliana d’aois ó Conmhaigh) mar dhuine d’ochtar atá ar an chúrsa dhá bhliain seo (Márta 2011 – Bealtaine 2013), áit a bhfuil béim ní hamháin ar na ngnáth ábhair scoile a bhaineann leis an Ardteistiméireacht ach fós go mór ar na scileanna praiticiúil, taithí oibre agus forbairt phearsanta. Taispéanann Ryan an méid is féidir baint amach má dhéantar páirt a ghlacadh san obair aonarach agus obair ghrúpa agus tugann sé moladh mór don atmaisféar agus na teagascóirí uile atá ansin.
Maith thú, a Ryan agus coinnigh leis an obair!..[/lang_ie]
[lang_en-uk]Youthreach is the Department of Education and Skills’s official education, training and work experience programme for young people who have left school early. Its aim is to develop the core skills needed for further learning and to prepare young people to progress to further education/training or to employment. The centre located on the Kilmacrenan Road in the Centre for Education is one location where such training and education is provided. Letterkenny Youthreach has space for 40 young people who can avail of courses such as QQI Levels 2, 3 and 4 and also Leaving Certificate Applied (LCA).
One of the current learners on the LCA Course, Ryan Matthewson has written a piece on his experiences and feelings towards the course and this has recently been published in the local papers. Ryan, an 18 year old from nearby Convoy, is one of eight students currently attending this 2 year course where along with the core subjects of the Leaving Certificate, the emphasis is placed on personal development, practical skills and work experience. Ryan shows (of which he has one full year completed) what the programme has done for him as he participates individually and with the group and he is a prime example of what can be achieved in Youthreach.
Well done Ryan and keep up the excellent work![/lang_en-uk]
