RECYCLE - REUSE - REFASHION with Junk Kouture

[lang_ie]Seo ócáid ina bhfuil an bhéim iomlán ar athchúrsáil agus bunábhar a úsáid le faisean nua a chruthú. Fós ar an lá duine ar bith a bhí 20 ceallra leo fuair siad £5 ón chostas iontrála ag an doras. Ghlac Cumasóige Bun Cranncha / Gleann Gad agus roinnt scoileanna ón taobh seo tíre (Coláiste Cranncha (feic an píosa ar YouTube thíos), Coláiste na Daoile, GS na Mainstreach, Coláiste Ailigh agus Coláíste Eargail ina measc) páirt le gairid san ócáid iontach seo ar taobh faisean ar a dtugtar Junk Kouture air in Óstán an Europa i mBéal Feirste. Bhí an ócáid urraithe ag CAE (Clár Athchúrsála Eorapach) agus bíonn na cultacha iomlán déanta as bunábhar athchúrsála. Bhí breis agus 70 culaith ansin ar an lá ó scoileanna ar fud Tuaisceart Éireann agus Contae Dhún na nGall agus caighdeán iontach ard ar fad. Ghlac Nadine Doherty, Debbie Burns agus Shannon McDaid páirt do Cumasóige Bun Cranncha agus le cuidiú ón múinteoir ealaíne Claire Harkin leis an táirgeacht rinne siad iarracht mhór agus bhain siad an sult as an lá. Rinne Nadine an chulaith a bhí ainmnithe (Twist of Modern Organic) a mhúnlaigh agus piocadh 20 culaith le dul ar aghaidh go dtí an babhta ceannais le Junk Kouture atá ar siúl in Óstán Citywest i mBaile Átha Cliath i mí Aibreán. Fuair culaith ‘Short Circuit’ ó Coláiste na Daoile tríd go Baile Átha Cliath agus seo píosa iomlán déanta as sreang agus comhpháirteanna leictreach curtha le chéile ag Clodagh Barry, Catherine Donnelly agus Leona Burns. Ádh mór oraibh uile as bhur chruthaitheacht.

[lang_en-uk]This is an event where the complete emphasis is on recycling material to create new fashion items. Also anyone on the day who arrived with 20 batteries had £5 deducted from their entry fee. Buncrana and Glengad Youthreach and several schools here in the North-West (among them Crana College (see YouTube below), Deele College, Abbey VS, Coláiste Ailigh and Errigal College) took part in this amazing fashion event called Junk Kouture and was held in the Europa Hotel in Belfast. The event was sponsored by ERP (European Recycling Platform). Over 70 dresses were entered from schools all over Northern Ireland and Co.Donegal and with a very high standard indeed. Nadine Doherty, Debbie Burns and Shannon McDaid represented Buncrana Youthreach and were assisted by their art teacher Claire Harkin. They really enjoyed their day and their effort where Nadine modelled their dress entry called Twist of Modern Organic. 20 dresses were singled out to go to the final in the Citywest Hotel in Dublin in April. A piece designed by Clodagh Barry, Catherine Donnelly agus Leona Burns in Deele College called ‘Short Circuit’ and made completely from stripped wire and electrical components has been picked to enter the finals in Dublin. Well done everyone for your efforts and creativity.
