Donegal ETB’s Further Education and Training (FET) Service will host an open day next Wednesday, 11 May in its newest FET Centre on the Port Road in Letterkenny.
The FET centre, which was previously located at the ETB’s Administrative Offices at Ard O Donnell and then on the High Road, has moved to this new location on Letterkenny’s Port Road to provide more spacious facilities. The building has undergone extensive refurbishment to create state of the art teaching and learning facilities.
Located over two floors, the centre offers a range of full-time and part-time courses in Information Technology/Microsoft Office Skills, Early Learning and Care, Healthcare and the adult Leaving Certificate programme, with certification available from QQI, Microsoft, City and Guilds as well as the State Examinations Commission.
All courses are accredited at Level 5 on the National Framework of Qualifications.
Adult Education Officer and Centre Manager Charles Gorney said, “We’re absolutely delighted with how our new FET Centre has turned out and are really looking forward to showing the public around it. The facilities are state of the art with seven spacious classrooms, two IT suites, a bright and spacious reception area and a canteen for students. I really would encourage anyone who is in the area on Wednesday 11 May to pop in for a cup of tea and a treat and we’ll be more than happy to show you around the building and tell you about our courses.”
The Letterkenny FET Centre on the Port Road is one of eighteen dedicated FET Centres run by Donegal ETB around the county, four of which are in Letterkenny.
The open day takes place from 11.00am until 3.00pm with Highland Radio’s John Breslin broadcasting his show, ‘Around the North West’ from the centre on the day.
