A new season for the Donegal ETB Golf Society is about to commence. Established in 1993, originally with 73 members, Donegal ETB Golf Society has now reached its 28th year. Captain for the 2020/2021 season is Jim McGlynn and Vice-Captain is Kathleen Gallagher.
The Society offers its members the opportunity to play a superb array of courses and affords them the chance to meet new people, relax in friendly company and enjoy all the craic and banter it has to offer.
On joining the Society members, who haven’t a handicap, will be allocated a Society handicap to get them started.
Many Society members were not members of a Golf Club before they joined, so the Society is an excellent introduction to the game. The Society caters for all categories of golfer – the old pro, the young pretender and both high and low handicappers! A maximum membership payment of €30 to join the Society and the usual Green Fees makes it much more affordable than upwards of €600 fee required to join a Golf Club.

The schedule of outings for the year ahead, which are mainly Saturdays, are:
- 03 October 2020 – Buncrana Municipal Golf Club
- 24 October 2020 – Dunfanaghy Golf Club
- 21 November 2020 – Portsalon Golf Club
- 02 January 2021- Donegal Golf Club, Murvagh
- 06 February 2021 – Rosapenna Golf Club (Sandy Hills)
- 06 March 2021 – Greencastle Golf Club
- 17 April 2021- Ballybofey & Stranorlar Golf Club for the “Donegal ETB Golf Society Memorial Cup/Trophy” in memory of Michael McGrath and all deceased Society Members
- 22 May 2021 – Venue to be decided if any previous outing(s) are cancelled due to adverse weather or Letterkenny Golf Club (Captain’s Prize)
- 23 July 2021 (Friday) – Letterkenny Golf Club; Captain’s Prize (if 22 May is not possible)
In addition to the prizes presented at each outing, all participants are invited to take part in the Donegal ETB Golfer of the Year, the Mary Anne Kane Magnificent 7 Memorial Trophy and the Corn Sheáin Uí Longáin Comórtas Foirne Team Competitions.
