Donegal ETB PE Teacher Wins 2023 Donegal Sports Star Award for Best Sports Teacher

The 2023 Donegal Sports Star Award for Best Sports Teacher (Secondary School) was won by Donegal Education and Training Board (ETB) Physical Education (PE) teacher Michelle McDaid at the awards event on Friday last, 24 January.

A Crana College (Buncrana) teacher, Michelle received her award from the Donegal GAA Senior Football Team Manager Jim McGuiness, a former Donegal ETB Further Education and Training student.

The overall 2023 Donegal Sports Star Award winner was Oisin Orr, a former Mulroy College student. This is the second time Oisin, a talented jockey, has won this award.

A number of other current and former and Donegal ETB students were nominated in a range of categories from Donegal ETB’s schools in Oileán Árainn Mhór (Gairmscoil Mhic Diarmada), Buncrana (Crana College), Donegal Town (Abbey Vocational School) and Milford (Mulroy College).

Donegal ETB would like to extend its warmest congratulations to all the winners and nominees.
