[lang_ie]B’é thíos in Inis Eoghain a tháinig na himreoirí Gailf ón Choiste lena chéile ar na mallaibh don 2ú Babhta i mbliana agus sé Marcel McCafferty a tháinig amach ar bharr ar an lá le scór iontach de 44 pointe agus Alex Harkin le scór de 41 sa dara háit – sin scór a d’fhéadfadh baint ar lá ar bith eile.
Tá Marcel (atá ag imirt ó chis de 28) cinnte go mbeidh athrú éigin déanta ag Oliver Plunkett (Rúnaí ar Chiseanna don Chumann Gailf) ar an uimhir sin roimh an chéad lá eile!! Sa 3ú háit bhí Gareth Doherty le 36 pointe agus ansin le 35 pointe bhí beirt – PJ McGowan agus Michael McGrath. Bhí an bua ag Brid Kelly leis an Duais i gCatagóir 4.
Ba mhaith leis an Chumann Gailf buíochas ó chroí a ghabháil le gach aon duine ag Cumann Gailf An Caisleán Nua a thug fearadh na fáilte agus béile breá d’achan duine.
Sé Lá an Captaen an chéad ócáid eile ar an Satharn 11 Bealtaine 2013 thuas ag Cumann Gailf Bealach Féich & Srath an Urláir agus tá ár gCaptaen i mbliana, Ruairi de Faoite ag dréim le slua mór agus aimsir ar dóigh ar an lá.
Seo le críochnú an t-ord reatha tar éis dhá bhabhta ar an Chomórtas d’Imreoir na Bliana 2013 :-
(1) Alex Harkin 44pointe, (2) Marcel McCafferty 30pointe, (3) Ruairí de Faoite agus Gareth Doherty 26pointe, (5) Ciaran McFadden 25pointe
An triúr is airde ar an Chomórtas don Seachtar (7) Iontach – nó Alex Harkin, Gareth Doherty agus Sean Murphy uile ar 5 phointe.[/lang_ie]
[lang_en-uk]Greencastle Golf Club was the venue for the 2nd Outing of Donegal VEC Golf Society on Saturday 13th April.
Winner on the day with a great score of 44 points was Marcel McCafferty, with Second Place going to Alex Harkin with a fine score of 41points which would win on most days.
Marcel (playing off 28) is in no doubt that Oliver Plunkett, the Society’s Handicap Secretary, will be only too pleased to adjust his handicap appropriately for the next outing!!
In 3rd Place was Gareth Doherty with a score of 36points, and 4th & 5th Places went to PJ McGowan on 35points and Michael McGrath on 35point (b.o.t) respectively.
The Category 4 prize went to Brid Kelly.
The Society would like to extend their thanks to everyone at Greencastle Golf Club for the excellent service and meal provided.
The next VEC Outing is Captain’s Day on Saturday the 11th May 2013 in Ballybofey & Stranorlar Golf Club. Our Captain, Rory White, is looking forward to a good turnout and hopeful of favourable weather.
