Agus na mic léinn ag glacadh inspioráid ón chaint sin – cuireadh roinnt gníomhaíochtaí ar siúl, mar a bhí:-
“Rása Spud agus Spúnóg” ó Rang Beirnis agus tógadh €86 leis sin. Chuaigh an dá rang eile – Aonnraí agus Bronagh lena chéile agus d’fhoilsigh siad leabhar dánta agus prós darbh ainm “True Talent – The Next Generation of Writers” . Bhí lainseáil oifigiúil i gCafé Blend agus idir díolachán ar an leabhar féin agus raifil eile ar an oíche – tógadh €338 ina hiomláine. Sin iomlán de €424.
Beidh an t-airgead ag dul fhad le Trócaire agus don obair atá ar siúl acu san India.[/lang_ie]
[lang_en-uk]Inspired by a guest speaker in the Social, Personal and Health Education (SPHE) classes in Rang Aonnraí, Rang Bronagh and Rang Beirnis in Coláiste Ailigh and the presentation given in relation to the poor regions of India where one third of the world’s poor live – The classes decided to organise several fundraising activities such as :-
“Spud and Spúnóg Race” from Rang Beirnis which raised a sum of €86. The other two classes – Rang Aonnraí and Rang Bronagh got together to publish a book of poetry and prose called “True Talent – The Next Generation of Writers”. The official launch took place in Café Blend where a total of €338 was collected from sales of the book and raffles. An overall total of €424.
The monies collected will be forwarded to Trócaire and for the work they undertake in India.[/lang_en-uk]
