[lang_ie]Bhain Nora Stapleton, iardhalta ó Choláiste Cranncha an-taitneamh as an deireadh seachtaine a chuaigh thart mar go raibh / go bhfuil sí ina bhall tábhachtach ar fhoireann Rugbaí na mBan in Éirinn. Dé Sathairn seo caite rinne Nora agus an fhoireann uile stair a chruthú mar bhuaigh siad an Choróin Thriarach don chéad uair riamh nuair a bhí lámh an uachtair acu ar Albain leis an scór 30-3. Bhí an bua acu níos luaithe sa mhí ar an Bhreatain Bheag 12-10 agus ar Shasana 25-0. An buntáiste eile faoi seo nó go bhfuil an fhoireann cáilithe anois le himirt sa Chorn an Domhain i bPáras ar an bhliain seo chugainn.
Imríonn Nora, ó Fathain, Inis Eoghain mar leathchúlaí le geansaí uimhir 10 agus is cinnte fós go bhfuil na scileanna a d’fhoghlaim sí ag imirt Peil Ghaelach ina chuidiú aici leis seo a bhaint amach. D’imir Nora d’Fhoireann Pheile CLG na mBan sa Chontae anseo i nDún na nGall agus tá sí ag obair anois mar Oifigeach Forbartha le Bord CLG Bhaile Átha Cliath. Bhí sí ina lúthchleasaí mór ag Coláiste Cranncha agus i 2011 bhí Nora mar an chéad duine ón scoil leis an Trófaí Columba Quigley a bhaint amach atá bronnta ar iar-dháltaí den scoth.
Maith thú, a Nora – tá tú mar ambasadóir iontach do Choláiste Cranncha. Déanann muid comhghairdeas fós anseo leis an imreoir eile ón Chontae – Larissa Muldoon ó Bhealach Féich agus go deimhin don fhoireann go léir agus guímid gach rath orthu sna cluichí atá fágtha acu i gcoinne na Fraince agus an Iodáil.[/lang_ie]
[lang_en-uk]Nora Stapleton, a past pupil of Crana College, Buncrana certainly enjoyed her weekend as she is an important member of the Ireland women’s Rugby team. On Saturday last Nora and her teamates made history as they won Ireland’s first ever Triple Crown with a 30-3 win over Scotland. The Irish girls have recently beaten Wales 12-10 and England 25-0. An added bonus is that the women will also now play in next year’s World Cup finals in Paris.
Nora, from Fahan, plays at halfback in the pivotal No 10 jersey and perhaps the skills that she picked up on the GAA field have helped her to settle into that demanding position. Nora has played for the Donegal County GAA women’s team and is working now as a Development Officer with the Dublin GAA Board. She was a great athlete at Crana and in 2011 she was the first recipient of the school’s Columba Quigley trophy for outstanding past pupils. Well done, Nora – you are a wonderful ambassador for Crana College. Congratulations also to the other Donegal representative – Larissa Muldoon from Ballybofey and indeed to all the team as we wish them well in the remaining matches against France and Italy.[/lang_en-uk]
