[lang_ie]Bhuaigh Coláiste na Carraige an Corn Sinsearach an Contae don 4ú bliain as 5 bliana ar na mallaibh nuair a bhí lámh an uachtair acu ar Scoil Phobail Charn Domhnaigh sa chluiche ceannais a imríodh i gCaisleán na Finne. Ba é an scór deiridh a bhí ann nó 3-11 indhiaidh 0-07. Ba é seo an chéad chluiche ceannais a d’úsáid an scoil na geansaithe spóirt nua leis an lógó Aware orthu.
Nach suimiúil é go raibh na geansaithe céanna le feiceáil ar an fhoireann F-16 ar an Aoine seo caite i bPáirc Mhic Cumhaill nuair a d’imir siad Pobailscoil Ghaoth Dobhair sa Chluiche Ceannais F-16. Cé nach raibh an aimsir rómhaith, bhí cluiche iontach teannta ann agus bhí Gaoth Dobhair chun tosaigh 2-01 indhiaidh 0-03 ag leath-am agus iad ag amharc go maith. Ach, bhí an lá le bheith ag Coláiste na Carraige agus ag an deireadh ní raibh ann ach pointe amháin idir na foirne – 1-10 indhiaidh 3-03. Seo an 3ú craobhchomórtas ag an scoil fós F-16 le ceithre bliana anuas. Tá éacht iontach déanta acu taobh istigh de 10 lá.
D’imir cúigear de na daltaí ar an dá fhoireann agus bhuaigh Conor Doherty an teideal Imreoir an Chluiche mar go bhfuair sé 7 bpointe don fhoireann ar an lá agus ar ndóigh fuair Conor 1-01 sa Chluiche Ceannais Sinsearach fós.
Comhghairdeas libh uile, do na himreoirí, foireann tacaíochta agus bainistíochta agus ádh mór oraibh sna cluichí i gComórtais Uladh atá ann gan mhoill.
Go cinnte …caithfidh na foirne agus scoileanna eile bheith ar an eolas….aware ... go bhfuil sibh ann.[/lang_ie]
[lang_en-uk]Coláiste na Carraige claimed their 4th senior county title in 5 years recently when they defeated Carndonagh CS in the final played in Castlefinn. The Final score being 3-11 to 0-07. This was the first final in which they sported their new jersies with the support Aware logo. Interestingly enough, the U-16 team had the jersies again on show for another final last Friday where they beat a very much fancied Gaoth Dobhair team. The match was played in not very ideal conditions in Mac Cumhaill Park but nonetheless provided an entertaining match overall. Although Gaoth Dobhair went in at half time with a 2-01 to 0-03 lead, it was Coláiste na Carraige who eventually triumphed by the narrowest of margins – 1-10 to 3-03 at the finish. This was Coláiste na Carraige’s 3rd title at U-16 level in 4 years so no doubt they boast a very unique double in 10 days.
Conor Doherty was one of 5 members of both Senior and U-16 teams and was voted Man of the Match last weekend with a return of 7 points. He also scored 1-01 in the Senior decider. So. well done Conor and well done to all players, coaches and staff and best wishes for your progression in the Ulster titles.
No doubt, the rest of the schools will have to be very...aware...of you all next time out.[/lang_en-uk]
