[lang_ie]Bhí an turas gailf leathdhéanach don Chumann Gailf an Choiste Gairmoideachais ar siúl le gairid agus fuarthas na himreoirí an iarraidh seo thuas ar bharr Inis Eoghain ag an dumhach ghailf Glaiséidí ag Baile Lifín. Bhí lá tirim fuar ann ach mar sin bhí an staid réidh le haghaidh an ama seo den bhliain. Sé an buaiteoir ar an lá nó Johnny Sweeney, múinteoir ó Scoil Bhun an Phobail, atá ag imirt ó chis de 6 agus fuair sé an-scór ar an lá de 36 pointe. Bhí an dara háit ag Oliver Plunkett ó Ghairmscoil na Mainistreach le scór de 34 pointe agus Micheal McGrath san tríú háit leis an scór céanna de 34. Tharlú an scéal céanna leis an chéad triúr eile fós – Alex Harkin (4ú háit), Sean Murphy (5ú háit) agus PJ McGowan (6ú háit) – bhí an scór céanna de 32 pointe acu. Beidh an comórtas deiridh i mbliana mar is gnáth ann i mBun Dobhráin ar an 29ú Nollaig agus scéal cinnte go mbeidh imirt shuimiúil ann. Tá Imreoir na Bliana 2012 le bheith socruithe agus seo mar atá na torthaí tar éis na hócáide seo i mBaile Lifín : Oliver Plunkett (79 pointe), Martin Gallen (77 pointe), Sean Murphy (76 pointe) agus Michael McGrath (74 pointe). Beidh an ceathrar seo ag dul ar an fhód lena chéile agus is féidir a rá go mbeidh imirt shuimiúil ann ó thús. Ádh mór oraibh go huile.[/lang_ie]
[lang_en-uk]Our penultimate outing of the year took us to the top of Inishowen and the majestic Glashedy links at Ballyliffen recently. There was a definite nip in the air on a day when conditions were excellent for the time of year.
Winner on the day was Moville teacher Johnny Sweeney with a fine score of 36pts. An excellent score from a fine player playing off a handicap of 6. Second place on b.o.t. Went to Abbey Vocational School’s Oliver Plunkett on 34pts just pipping Michael mc Grath on the same score into third. The final three positions were also all separated by that narrowest of margins on b.o.t. as Alex Harkin, Sean Murphy and PJ mc Gowan all came home with 32pts.
The final outing of the year is our traditional finishing venue of Bundoran GC on Saturday 29th December, and what an outing it promises to be as the race for Golfer of the Year couldn’t be much tighter. Oliver Plunkett leads the way on 79pts, closely pursued by Martin Gallen on 77pts, Sean Murphy 76pts and Michael Mc Grath on 74pts.
These four will take to the course together and this will indeed be an interesting end to this year’s events. Best of luck to all.[/lang_en-uk]
