Bhí an seó dámhachtainí seo mar chuid de shraith ceardlann amhráin le deis a thabhairt do dhaoine óga bheith cruthaitheach agus le teagmháil agus roinnt a dhéanamh trí cheol. Thug an seó aitheantas dóibh fós sa stíl il-mheáin chumarsáide cosúil le hócáid na “Grammy’s”. Bhí féasta de cheol bheo don lucht féachana agus éisteachta – mar a bhí an banna popcheol leictreach Miracle Bell, fós bhí Kasey Smith (iar-bhaill do bhanna ceoil Wonderland do chuid Louis Walsh) agus go leor leor eile. Bhí turas iontach sásúil ag Cumasóige Gort a’Choirce mar thug siad an Gradam don Ionad Nua is Fearr abhaile leo agus bhí Cumasóige Bhéal Átha Seanaidh mar ainmnitheach i roinnt mhaith de na catagóir fós. [lang_en-uk]A few weeks ago Youthreach students from across the country travelled to Dublin to be part of the CraftZone Songs from the Youth music awards. The awards show was part of a series of songwriting workshops designed to give young people the opportunity to create, share and connect through music. The show acknowledged the young people’s creative achievements in a ‘Grammy’ style multi-media event. The guests were treated to a visual feast for the senses and live music from emerging electro pop outfit, Miracle Bell, Kasey Smith (formerly of Louis Walsh’s Wonderland) and others. Gortahork’s epic trip to the capital wasn’t in vain as they brought back the Best New Centre Award with them, while Ballyshannon Youthreach were also among the nominees in various categories. The main winners on the day included :-
Best New Centre Award – Gortahork Youthreach, Co.Donegal.
Best Song Award – Waterford City Youthreach – “Can’t Wait for the Summer”
Best Group Vocal Trophy – Castleblaney Youthreach, Co.Monaghan.
Best Rap Entry – Cootehill Youthreach, Co.Cavan
Best Female Solo Performance – Katie Phibbs (West Wicklow Youthreach, Co.Wicklow)
Best Male Solo Performance – Michael Hutchinson (Roscrea Youthreach, Co.Tipperary)
