[lang_ie]Cuireadh ainm nua ar Chorn Sheáin Ó Longáin i mbliana mar go raibh an bua ag Coláiste na Daoile, Ráth Bhoth agus chuir seo stad leis na trí bliana ina dhiaidh a chéile atá bainte amach ag Coláiste Ghleann na Finne atá mar a deir mé Seaimpíní le trí bliana anuas. Bhí an ócáid seo ar siúl ar na mallaibh ar Chúrsa Gailf na Fearthainne agus Port Nua.
Ar Fhoireann Coláiste na Daoile bhí PJ McGowan, Danny Conaghan agus Alec Reid agus chríochnaigh siad le scór den scoth de 88 pointe agus rud beag chun tosaigh ar Fhoireann Oifigí Riaracháin an Coiste Gairmoideachais (Jim McGlynn, Marcel McCafferty agus Martin Gallen) a raibh 85 pointe acu ag deireadh an lae. Seo an dara bhliain as a chéile iad a chríochnú sa 2ú háit. Sa tríú háit le 84 pointe bhí foireann déanta suas ó scoileanna difriúla (Johnny Sweeney ó Bhun an Phobail, Gearóid Ó Dochartaigh ó Choláiste na Carraige agus iad le Captaen an tSochaí i mbliana – sin Paddy McDaid ó Choláiste Ghleann na Finne).
Bhí deich bhfoirne pháirteacha ina iomláine ar an lá agus ba mhaith le Sochaí Ghailf den Choiste Gairmoideachais a mbuíochas a ghabháil le Cumann Gailf na Fearthainne agus Port Nua le haghaidh an ardchaighdeáin agus fáilteachais a cuireadh ar fáil do gach aon duine. Ar ndóigh, bhí an tUasal Seán Ó Longáin ann don bhronnadh ag deireadh an lae agus é in éineacht lena bhean chéile agus a iníon.Seo a leanas na buaiteoirí ar an lá :-

[lang_en-uk]There will be a new name on the Seán Ó Longáin cup this year as Deele College of Raphoe brought Finn Valley College’s three year stint as VEC golf society team champions to an end at a glorious Narin and Portnoo Golf Club on Saturday.
The Deele College team of PJ MC Gowan, Danny Conaghan and Alec Reid came in with an excellent score of 88pts to beat the VEC Head Office team with 85pts, made up of Jim Mc Glynn, Marcel Mc Cafferty and Martin Gallen into the runners-up spot for the second year in a row. Third place, on 84pts, went to a mixed school team comprised of Moville’s Johnny Sweeney, Carrick’s Gearoid O Dochertaigh and society captain Paddy Mc Daid.
Ten teams in all took part and thanks must go to Narin and Portnoo Golf club for the excellent quality of both the course and their hospitality. Mr O Longain was once again in attendance for the presentation, accompanied by his wife and daughter.
Other prize winners on the day were :-
Michael Mc Grath and Danny Conaghan for closest to the pin and Kevin Murphy and Johnny Sweeney for longest drives.
