[lang_ie]Tá beirt mhac léinn atá faoi láthair i lár na scrúduithe Ardteistiméireachta – Kevin Mc Dermott agus Sean Sperrin agus múinteoir Kevin Cooley ó Choláiste Cranncha ag taisteal chun na Siombáibe ag deireadh na míosa seo le Concern. Tá Coláiste Cranncha mar cheann de na cúig scoil is fearr ar taobh tiomsaithe airgid in Éirinn le blianta fada do Concern, le méideanna os cionn €10,500 in aghaidh na bliana tríd an troscadh bliantúil agus an Báiliúcháin trí na Sráide ag an Nollaig.
Tá an turas urraithe ag gníomhaireacht taistil agus le linn a gcuid ama sa tSiombáib, beidh siad ag tabhairt cuairt ar roinnt de na scoileanna agus na tionscadail fheirmeoireachta a bhfuil an ciste báilithe ag tabhairt tacaíocht. Tá Sean Sperrin ag súil go mór leis an turas (ó 29 Meitheamh – 9 Iúil ) agus seo an méid a bhí le rá aige :- “Sa chlár ceartais shóisialta anseo sa scoil tá staidéar déanta againn ar conas a bhfuil daoine ina chónaí i dtíortha an tríú domhan, ar an dóigh a mbíonn siad ag streachailt le maireachtáil agus is deacair sin a shamhlú”. “Ní féidir liom a chreidiúint,” a deir Sean, “go bhfuil an deis agam taisteal go dtí an Afraic agus mé le bualadh le roinnt de na daoine a bhfuil muid ag cabhrú leis”. Tá Kevin fós corraithe faoin turas agus tá sé lán de mholadh do gach duine – múinteoirí agus mic léinn Coláiste Cranncha agus an pobal áitiúil leis an fheachtas bailithe airgid bhliantúil do Concern.[/lang_ie]
[lang_en-uk]Crana College teacher Kevin Cooley and two current 5th Year Students who are in the middle of their Leaving Certificate exams – Kevin McDermott and Sean Sperrin are travelling to Zimbabwe at the end of this month with Concern. Crana College has been one of the top 5 fundraising schools in Ireland for many years, raising amounts in excess of €10,500 per year through the annual fast and Christmas Street Collection. The trip is sponsored by a travel agency and during their time in Zimbabwe (29th June – 9th July), they will visit some of the schools and the farming projects that the college has helped fund and support. Sean Sperrin is really looking forward to the trip saying, “In our social justice programme in school we have studied how people living in third world countries have a much tougher struggle to survive than we can ever imagine. I can’t believe that I am getting the opportunity to travel to Africa and meet some of the people that we have helped.” Kevin is equally excited about the trip and he is full of praise for all efforts from teachers, students and local communities with the annual fundraising drive for Concern.[/lang_en-uk]
